Billing and plans
How schools manage subscriptions, add-ons, usage, and plan changes.
Billing and plans
Billing is one of the main responsibilities for school admins.
Plans
There are three main plan states:
- Free
- Pro
- School Essential
For school customers, the main documented school offer is:
- base school plan
- extra teacher slots
- extra student blocks
What the billing area shows
School billing pages can surface:
- current plan label
- whether access is active, in grace, or canceling
- renewal or access-until date
- usage counts for students, teachers, and AI generations
- per-plan limits
- add-on totals
- Stripe or manual billing source
Billing actions
The billing area can include actions such as:
- change plan
- update add-ons
- sync billing state
- Stripe checkout
- Stripe customer portal
- billing usage
- support-led grant, cancel, and repair actions when needed
Operational recommendation
School admins should review billing regularly when:
- student count is growing
- you need more teaching seats
- AI generation usage is increasing
- payment issues could push the school into grace or downgrade status
Access control
On school plans, billing is intentionally restricted. Teachers are directed to ask the school admin rather than changing the school subscription themselves.
