Study guides and vocabulary practice

How students open teacher-made guides, review vocabulary, and keep up with practice.

Study guides and vocabulary practice

Noterra gives students two major self-study areas: Guides and My vocabulary.

Study guides

Study guides are materials your teacher prepares for you.

In the guides area, you can:

  • open your guide list
  • preview guide content
  • open the generated PDF
  • receive guide-ready notifications

Teachers create guides for students. Students open and review them.

Vocabulary practice

The student vocabulary area is built around personal review rather than a shared dictionary.

Students can:

  • review all assigned words
  • focus only on due words
  • star important words
  • hide words from practice
  • open detailed word drawers
  • start guided review sessions
  • study assigned sets

Practice modes

Vocabulary review sessions may include:

  • flashcard
  • typing
  • multiple choice
  • mixed

What your vocabulary summary tracks

Your vocabulary summary can show:

  • active words
  • total words
  • due today
  • learned words
  • new words
  • topic-level stats
  1. Open any new guide from your teacher.
  2. Review due words in My vocabulary.
  3. Star important vocabulary you want to revisit often.
  4. Use topic and level filters when you need more focused practice.
