Assessments and feedback

How students start assessments, resume attempts, and review scores and teacher notes.

Assessments and feedback

Noterra includes a separate assessment system in addition to interactive lessons.

What students can do

In the assessment area, you may see these states:

  • Start an assigned assessment
  • Resume an in-progress assessment
  • View a submitted attempt while analysis is still running
  • Results once scoring is ready

Assessment task types

Assessment task kinds include:

  • multiple choice
  • writing
  • speaking
  • gap fill
  • retell
  • shadowing
  • transformation

What you may see in your results

Assessment attempt pages can display:

  • overall score
  • CEFR guess
  • weak topics
  • AI-generated feedback
  • pronunciation details for speaking tasks
  • transcripts and metrics
  • teacher notes

Some of this feedback is generated automatically, and some may be added directly by your teacher.

Student workflow

  1. Open Assessment or My assessments.
  2. Start or resume the assigned test.
  3. Submit the attempt.
  4. Wait while the platform analyzes answers.
  5. Return to the results page to review scores and feedback.

How this differs from interactive lessons

Use Interactive lessons for teacher-created lesson practice.

Use Assessment when your teacher wants a more formal test, score, or progress check.
