Getting started as a student

How students join Noterra, finish setup, and understand the first things they can do.

Getting started as a student

Most students enter Noterra through an invite from a teacher or school.

How joining works

Most students join through an email invite:

  1. Your teacher creates an invite for your email address.
  2. You open the invite link.
  3. If you do not have an account yet, Noterra sends you to the student signup page.
  4. You confirm your first name, last name, mother tongue, and password.
  5. You accept the legal documents.
  6. After signup, Noterra claims the invite and connects your account to the right school.

If you are signed in with the wrong email, Noterra stops the flow and asks you to switch accounts before continuing.

What you may be asked for

During setup, you may be asked for:

  • first name
  • last name
  • mother tongue
  • password
  • acceptance of terms, privacy, and acceptable use documents

What happens next

Once your invite is accepted, you can usually access:

  • a personal dashboard
  • booked lessons and open lesson slots
  • published interactive lessons
  • assigned assessments
  • study guides created by teachers
  • personal vocabulary practice
  • profile and notification settings

What students usually cannot do

Student accounts do not usually manage:

  • school billing
  • staff settings
  • school branding
  • exercise libraries
  • community spaces for staff

If your invite does not work

Common reasons an invite may fail are:

  • the invite was already claimed
  • the invite expired
  • the invite was revoked
  • you are signed in with a different email than the invite email

If any of those apply, contact your teacher or school and ask for a fresh invite link.
